Advertising and our ad policy
What you will see
- Every ad sits in a fixed, reserved space labelled "Advertisement", with a "Report this ad" link under it.
- No more than four ads on an article, nothing above the headline, and no ads in data tables, forms or our tools.
- No pop-ups, full-screen ads between pages, auto-playing video or sound, video that follows you down the page, or ads that cover what you are reading.
- No "recommended content" widgets from Taboola, Outbrain or similar.
- Sponsored content, if we ever run it, is labelled at the top.
Categories we never accept
- Gambling
- Crypto, forex, trading bots and celebrity investment offers
- Adult and dating
- Miracle health and supplements
- Political, issue and religious ads
- Get-rich-quick and MLM schemes
- Astrology
- Downloadable "cleaner" utilities
- Alcohol, tobacco, vapes and firearms
- Anything that impersonates Tesla or implies Tesla endorses us or the advertiser
Sponsorships
We plan a small number of direct sponsorships for EV and energy businesses, such as a labelled sponsor box or a tracker sponsor. Sponsors never see or influence our stories or data. Home-battery and solar sponsors must meet the Cheaper Home Batteries Program's accreditation rules.
