How we work
Volts & Bots articles are written with AI assistance.
Who is behind the site
Volts & Bots is run by Rod Bland in Sydney.
How an article is made
- Sources first. We follow a list of named sources: Tesla's own channels and filings, regulators and official data in Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere, trade press, data trackers and a small number of commentators. Community posts are used as tips to check, never as proof.
- AI drafts. AI tools gather the sources for a story and write a draft that has to cite a source for every fact. A draft only goes ahead if it adds something new: a check of the original documents, the Australian or New Zealand angle, our own data, or a hands-on test.
- Editor review. A separate AI editor, working to our written editorial rules, checks every article against its sources before Rod sees it. An article it fails goes back for changes.
- Rod Bland reads and approves every article before it is published.
Trackers are compiled with AI tools from the sources listed on each tracker and carry the Volts & Bots staff byline rather than Rod's.
What AI never does here
- It is never credited as an author, and we never invent people.
- It never makes images that we present as real photos of products or events. Our illustrations are labelled as illustrations.
