Plans lodged for 37-stall Tesla Supercharger at Thurgoona, near Albury
Lodged with Albury's council on 30 Sep 2026, the plans include a 100 kW solar system but no battery.
A development application (a request for planning approval) was lodged with AlburyCity on 30 Sep 2026 for a Tesla electric vehicle (EV) charging site at 19 Diamond Drive, Thurgoona. It has 37 charging posts.
The New South Wales (NSW) Planning Portal lists the application as under assessment.

What the plans show
The planning statement, by Purdon Planning, says it was prepared on behalf of Voda Building Services and Tesla Motors Australia. It describes "an EV charging car park of thirty-seven (37) spaces (1 accessible)".
Voda's site plan shows 36 standard spaces plus the accessible bay. The block is vacant, grassed land of about 1,300 m² beside a local centre with a supermarket, a service station and fast-food outlets.
The planning statement pitches the site at two groups:
motorists travelling along the Hume Highway and residents of the growing Thurgoona area
The traffic report, by Quantum Traffic, assumes every car arriving would have diverted from the Hume Highway. It also assumes 29 bays in use in the Friday evening peak and 31 in the Sunday peak.
The statement says solar panels on canopies over the bays, about 4 metres high and nearing 500 m², would have a capacity of 100 kilowatts (kW).
It says the system "does not include on-site energy storage (battery)" and is "intended solely to serve the EV charging stations".
